1/48 Hasegawa A6M5 from IJN carrier Zuiho

Almost ready to decal. The exhausts and cowl are in place.

Me too, my father claimed to have flown a B-17 in training at Riverside in CA 1944 before shipping out to Guam then Okinawa. Hard to believe a corporal who drove a D-7 bulldozer making airfields did that, said pilot showed him how though.
 
Up next after A6M5 is an A6M3 Type 22 Zero by Hasegawa-1/48, will do it as Nishigawa's plane,his plane tail number UI-106, overall gray(tannish gray) NOT his UI-105 that was gray bottom and slopped on green top. This was before the orders came out to paint top surfaces dark green to match the jungle foliage. I have after market decals for this scheme.
