USS Capella AK-13 near the Norfolk Navy Yard. 12 August 1943, after change of armament. She now has two 3"/50 on the forecastle and two 3"/50 and one 5"/38 on the poop. The area between the bridge and the smokestack is again empty except for a lattice radar mast.

Bureau of Ships Measure 32 Camouflage Design 11-A drawing for the port and starboard sides of USS Kaloli AOG-13, dated 1 May 1944. The three colors on the ship's vertical surfaces were light gray (5-L), ocean gray (5-O), and dull black (BK). The decks were painted deck blue.

USS General Henry W. Butner AP-113 near Boston Naval Shipyard, 6 June 1947, after being altered there to carry military dependents. The number of personnel she could carry was reduced, and the four after Welin davits and their boats were removed. The ship had a Navy crew and retained her armament. Five sisters were similarly modified in 1946-1947. The paint scheme shown here was used briefly by the Naval Transportation Service in the late 1940s.
