The first image isn't the German U-boat . It is the Polish submarinne ORP Sokół ( Falcon ) N-97. She was the British U class vessel . The pic was taken in March 1944 when she returned Plymouth from the Mediterranean Sea. The Jolly Roger and captured German flags are hoisted on the periscope.
