I got a question for A-1E (specifically) air and ground crews or historians...
The A-1E, as I understand it, was a side-by-side 2 seater.
I am working on an AFTWS Remembrance profile for Capt. Donald Patch, KIA while aboard tail #52-133880, on 2 Oct 65 in Binh Dinh province.
He was stationed (I believe) at Bien Hoa with the 602nd TFS of the 6251st TFW (also: 1st SOS of the 3rd TFW).
Capt. Don Hood may also have been aboard that day.
I am having a horrible time figuring out any details of the hostile loss, as it has been characterized. Binh Dinh is a large place, and was most certainly extremely dangerous in the day.
Any guidance out there?
