"A MIghty Endeavor"-- a tribute to the men and women who made the world safe for democracy during WWII, will open in the Patterson Library Octagon Gallery in Westfield, NY, on June 14th, at 7 pm. Seventy-five years ago, June 6th, 1944, the Allied Invasion of Normandy marred the turning point in the war between democracy and fascism. Come see this presentation in miniatures of the Western, Eastern, and the Home Front-captured in historically accurate dioramas and models by master modelers. This exhibition of scale model planes, boats, vehicles, soldiers and civilian sheds light on how it felt when the whole world was at war, and the outcome--what form of government would triumph--was unclear. Seventy-five years ago, fate hung in the balance, and only the courage of our nation would make the difference. This show is a tribute to those who lived and died in those perilous times.
