I have a couple of smoke generator manuals (photographs of pages from AP 2457 from the RAF and a TM somewhere from the USAAF) which I will scan and post but decided to start the thread with a photo of 13 Sqn (Army Co-operation Command), sqdn code "OO" Blenheim's having fun during exercises in March 1942, possibly as training for the Dieppe raid on August 19, 1942. You can clearly see the smoke stacks on the aircraft on the left. This must have been close to suicidal during an actual mission. The AA and every rifle on the ground would be shooting at you a point blank range.
