Aw flaming stralia
I have a bunch of these and I will scan and post them in roughly series order as I get time as they show a lot of details of RAF and Brit aircraft of the period plus the early RAF versions of the Harvard.

What many do not know is these also appeared as weekly publications and I have volumes 4 and 5 of those so in some cases I will be collecting what I have of a particular volume using those pages.

The part 25 weekly booklet is dated 29/3/1940 and the back cover advertises that the April edition of Wide World magazine is now available which suggests that weekly booklet 1 came out about Aug/Sep 1939.

The hardback series were early 40s.

My vol 20 (Airscrews part 2) shows original Aug 1940 and that it was revised on Aug 42.
I have two copies of Vol 7 Magnetos and the second shows as April 40 revised Jan 43

What I am going to call Vol 21 FOR CONVENIENCE is an identical layout book from the same author and editorial team without the header and volume number which is called Aero Engine Practice which was dated July 41 -- I have only the second edition dated April 43

EDIT above because looking at the full series on the dust jacket of volume 26 shows that vol 21 actually is Aero Engine Practice.

If anyone can supply a better example of the Volume 3 cover (and/or the covers [and dust covers] for Volumes 4, 6, 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 19 & 20) please PM me. I will then swap the covers out in the PDFs that I am posting. I have contacted several libraries that have copies of the book but had no replies to date. Note that some covers I have are "blank" with the title on the spine only and I do not need any of them - as you can see I have two prints of the same edition of hydraulics with totally different covers with one being a wartime reprint.

Volume 6 -- Airframes part 1 - includes the NA16-3 which was the father of the BC-1 , Harvard Mk 1 and Wirraway as well as grandfather of the AT-6/SNJ and later Harvard series

The cover is a bleached mess and so far I have not got a reply from several libraries that have copies to use as a replacement.

I should have added this comment to Vol 6 above but it applies to multiple volumes.

Some of the diagrams span two pages and scanning them has been somewhat of a problem because getting a good scan of the page centre is almost impossible. I use a version of

to get better "scans" using my iphone and just broke the glass taking a photo of page 9 below so things will slow down until I get a new sheet of glass. This is not the first time I have broken the normal non reflective glass by pressing too hard. Hopefully I am going to buy a cheap photocopier or scanner at a thrift store next time I am in town as the glass in them must be fairly strong given the number of scans of peoples posteriors that have been taken over the years.

Just had a win. I have had green cover volumes IV and V (of 5) for some 30 years but just purchased Vols I and II

From those I will be able to create the missing blue cover volume 8 Link Trainer.

Now all I need is green Vol III and blue volumes 22-25. One will be coming on loan from my state library in late January so that will also fll a gap

Volume 9 - Engines Part 2

I should have noted earlier that a lot of the pages are dark because the originals pages are a dark sepia colour. Some books almost all pages are affected and on other books only few or random pages are affected. I had thought the scanner or ScanTailor were at fault but I now think it is just the conditions of the originals.

Edit - I posted this one instead of Vol 10 - must be tired and blonde today. Now I have to go back and finish processing 10 and 11
