There's always a time and a place for some LIRR, right?

Oyster Bay engine terminal, N.Y., 1947....

And the best time and place for the LIRR is being retired from it. I loved my time on The Property and knew I would miss it. I had a powerful radio and no adult supervision.
Oyster Bay station and it's yard are rather picturesque.

I can hear something rattle down the barrel....in that general direction! 👉🏻👆🏻👇🏻👈🏻
it blows the whole cartridge out with compressed gas and it fires the primer later, like a multistage rocket. Sorta like when we tossed bottle rockets and tried to time the second stage, or taped two together and hoped it would gracefully continue, rather than turn back down before second stage ignition!

I think that Lucky13 needs an intervention.
A life with more stale beer and old pickled eggs at the pub is preferable to rotting his brain viewing this stuff.
;)

I'm not gonna argue, pub it is! 🍻
I'm happy to say though, I'm spending less and less on that Face....thingy....book, what a (insert your choice of sentence enhancer here) it has become or, or more so than before! 😆😂

Ahh bottle rockets. My first foray into applied aviation.

We used to take the Whistling Pete's, remove the plastic base and peel away the cardboard tube to get to the charge (which resembled an M80), then we'd light it and run like hell, because that thing was now transformed into a "screaming mimi" and would fly all over the place all the while shreaking (as expected from a Whistling Pete, of course).

sounds about as predictable as a dachshund with a roman candle.

I just hate this AI hype train. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Why are people so eager to replace the real world with a fake, made up one?

We've seen already what a "success" social media was. This will even be worse.
One simple answer: because it gives them feel of power, Marcel.

They create a world with their own visions, rules, realities. Just like any Base Building Games like Age of Empires / Cossaks / Sid Meyer's Civilization / even Stronghold / Command and Conquer / Men of War series, gives you control of a nation or an Army.

People seek what they cannot reach in real life.
