Based on what I have read, this was not a well-loved airplane, but was a much-used one.

The manufacturer was started by the author Neville Shute during the depression.

His book What happened to the Corbetts was derided when written but became an air raid training publication after the blitz started. His 1948 book No Highway was about airliners crashing due to metal fatigue - some call it the prediction of the Comet disasters
