July 12 (Reuters) - General Sergei Surovikin, a deputy commander of Russia's military operations in Ukraine who has not been seen in public since last month's armed mutiny by mercenary fighters, is "resting", a lawmaker from the ruling party said on Wednesday.

Andrei Kartapolov, head of the State Duma Defence Committee, is heard saying in a video posted on social media: "Surovikin is currently resting. (He is) not available for now."

Surovikin, dubbed "General Armageddon" by the Russian press for his aggressive tactics in the Syria conflict, was last seen publicly when he issued a video appeal urging a halt to the June 23-24 mutiny by fighters of Yevgeny Prigozhin's Wagner mercenary group while it was still underway.

A New York Times report based on a U.S. intelligence briefing said last month that Surovikin had advance knowledge of the mutiny and that Russian authorities were checking whether he was complicit.

Some Russian and international media reported last month that Surovikin had been arrested, but there has been no official confirmation of that, and the Kremlin has declined to answer questions about him.

Looks like he's taking the Big Sleep.
Maybe he is resting at the Lubianka Hilton.

Standing in front of the disabled Bradley is not "captured". If you can't carry it home, it's not yours. My guess is Ukraine will retrieve and repair it.

"Resting" = in a casket?
Probably. Only that if that is the case he will not be back, for sure.

It was always going to happen sooner or later. They made a big deal of the Leopards and Bradley's caught in the open only for them to end up back in Ukraine arms
The thing that catch my attention with these is the fact that looks like no attempt was made to destroy it. So, maybe it isn't captured at all, only disabled and could be back to Ukrainia soon.

Perhaps he is merely fagged and fashed after a prolonged squawk. I think he has ceased to be. He is an ex general.

Disturbing.

Disturbing.
I agree, but reading the artical its clearly states they are looking to sell Russia the missiles "After" the current conflict is over.

While I frown on selling any weapons to Russia with the current leadership in place, it remains to be seen what Russia will look like after the current conflict is over. It may be the same leadership, and it may be completely different, for better or worse. I don't pretend to know what the results will be for Putin.

If I'm India selling anything to Russia I want US$ cash in advance before I lift a finger. I don't know what Russia will look like politically by 2030, but the place is going to be economically bankrupt.

Put together Venezuela, Haiti, Zimbabwe, and North Korea, and then cover it with snow, and you see the future of Russia.
