A nuclear weapons expert said that one day they told him there was great concern over a nuclear weapon in Europe and they needed him there, ASAP. So they stuck him in the back seat of a B-57 and flew him across the Atlantic.

They showed him the nuke they were very concerned about. It had been opened for inspection and what they saw scared the daylights out of them. The expert looked inside the bomb and was astonished to see that a strange green substance was spread all over the electronics. Further investigation revealed that the weapon had been signed off by the production inspector as well as both Quality Control and Quality Assurance.

But all those people who had signed off the bomb had missed one thing.

A half eaten ham sandwich had been left inside the casing.

He told them the bomb was not going to do anything unpleasant. The mold engendered by the sandwich was not going to cause the nuke to go off prematurely.
