Aaaaaaand we're just about done! May go back and replace the antenna wire and do a few small weathering details, but I'm ultimately happy with how it came out. Thanks to everybody here for the info and guidance!

Looks great. Nylon "invisible mending thread" available at sewing stores is also a good choice for antenna wire. Cheap too.
 
Nicely done.
Two small observations - this Squadron carried the individual code letter ( "A" in this instance ) under the nose, in black. Also, the crow bar on the door was not introduced until well after the BoB.

Thanks for the info. I can definitely add the "A" onto the plane so that shouldn't be too hard. The axe will just have to remain as is I'm afraid.
