1. 18 April1975. "Listen my children and you shall hear of the midnight ride of Paul Revere. On the 18th of April in 75, there is scarcely a man left alive...'

2. 18 April 1942. Doolittle raid on Japan from the USS Hornet. My HS math and mechanical drawing teacher, Horece E. Crouch, was the Bomb/Nav on Plane No.10. His was the only B-25 that crossed the coast of Japan at its planned spot.

3. 18 April 1943. USAAF P-38's killed Adm Yamamoto. And we now know the Admiral's Betty bomber was not shot down but crashed either due to impact with the terrain or from structural failure while frantically trying to evade the P-38's. Japanese expeditions to the Betty crash site just after the event as well as decades later revealed that the Admiral died from blunt force trauma, still strapped in his seat. There were no bullet holes in the airplane.

4. 15 April 1986. USAF F-111F's attack Libya and try to kill Col Kaddafy. And I worked on those airplanes!

5. 18 April 1986. USAF Titan 34D explodes seconds after liftoff from SLC-4E, Vandenberg AFB CA. And I was watching that!
