APX-1 IFF info request

I recently purchased RT-22 AN/APX-1 IFF Transponder Set; used in Navy aircraft F4F, F6F-5, FM-2, F4U

How was it used and what Army Air Corps planes was it used in?
what else goes with the system in the aircraft?

Look on line for the manuals titled "Graphic Survey of Radio and Radar Equipment Used by the Army Air Forces"
I only have Section-4, Radar Navigation Equipment, dated 1945-07-01 but the rest of the set is available and that should give you all the associated parts.

At least, AN/APX-1 set was installed on P-61 "Black Widow" night fighters. SCR-720 radar has no IFF capability.
