B 17 gunner windows

Did the b17 and b24 have plexiglass covers or where they installed. After the war for the rear gunners

The earlier models of B-17 had open waist guns changing over to inclosed ones later in the war. The early B-24s also all had open waist windows but the closed ones that appeared later had more to do with which plant they were manufactured in rather than anything else, many still having open windows until production ended.
