Sep 6, 2006 #1 W WAKEN Airman 1st Class 102 0 Jan 1, 2006 The maximum bomb load of the Y1B-17 was 8000lbs. I understand that the maximum bomb load of the B-17B was 8 x 600lb bombs (i.e. a total of 4800lbs). Is it correct that the B-17B maximum bomb load was less than that of the earlier Y1B-17?
