That's the so called "Project Reed" B-17E with the Consolidated nose and tail turrets. I posted photos of the same a/c in the thread "Photo of the day". You can find a good description with many photos in the book "B-17 in detail & scale" Part 3.

A while ago I did some measurements on a 1:48 B-17 and -24 I was trashing......a lot of work at the nose join
