Reminds me of the experimental jury-rigged installation of a 20mm cannon in the nose of a B-17. It worked, but, despite the cannon being stoutly braced, the recoil of the cannon firing was so strong it risked damaging the fuselage.

English class required a written theme turned in every Monday. Because of time restraints, I usually turned in unfinished pencil draft on yellow tablet paper. The above reminds me of one titled "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies", where a Coastal B-24 with a 40mm encountered a Fw 200 and combat ensued. Graded "passed", the additional comment written was, "How does this come out"?
