Not surprising. Russian Naval Aviation received ex-Soviet Union Be-12. Reportedly nine Be-12 are still in operation with the Black Sea Fleet. There is no better emplacement in the Black Sea than Crimea.

Edit: They may be needed if there is another smoking incident like the Moskvá

they are not - i remember about 5 years ago all have been put on sale for couple bottles of vodka but all have been in tragic technical condition no customers have been found...
