Hi,
Can someone help me identify who this pilot is and what squadron he flew in? All I know is it might be a BF 109 ace that either flew in Africa or most likely Russia.
That marking below his cockpit is unique and I tried searching for it but came up empty handed.
You can see the "nsheil!" and is possibly could be "nnsheil!" but I have no idea what the first part would be!!!
I posted a very odd photo of an unidentified aircraft here awhile back and I had an answer the next day!

I have obtained a pretty large collection of Luftwaffe photos and I am trying to organize them.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks!!!

I really appreciate your information. You have no idea how many famous Luftwaffe pilots airscraft photos I looked at. According to my research, their were over 100 Luftwaffe Aces in WWII. I started by researching the most famous which gave me a short list of about 20. I then researched each and every aircraft they flew. I actually looked at Beerenbrock's aircraft but I completely missed the "Waidmannsheil!" on the photo and ignored it. I think I starred at too many aircraft photos which caused some inattentional blindness!!! Interestingly enough, Waidmannsheil translates to "Good Hunting" in German.
I'm glad that I turned to this blog for help. I am far from being an expert on the Luftwaffe but still learning had by day.

I will look for addtional replies. I hope that I can help others out on this site As well.

Thanks so much!!!
