I've been leaning more toward Tamiya 1/48 kits lately. IMHO it's hard to beat the quality. One way to keep an eye on pricing is with CamelCamelCamel. The site tracks pricing on any Amazon item. I've been looking at the Tamiya P-38 J, the CamelCamelCamel site shows the kit is at nearly an all time low, I purchased for $55.29
