Is the code function disabled for a reason in the posting section ?

Shouldn't just the code be shown when you put it between the code tags ?
Just asking because it makes it easier for you to have someone copy and paste a code if it works in that manner.

Not sure I am following the question here. Do you mean you are trying to put something up on how to do something, like explaining the image embedding, or something like that?

Usually on other forums I'm on, when you put something in the

 tags, like the image Wheelsup posted, instead of actually showing the image, it would show the code surrounding the image. 

IE:

[ img]http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/wheelsup_cavu/Museums/March/May%2002%202009/th_100_0635.jpg[/ img]

I had to put spaces in the [IMG] tags so it wouldn't show the image which aren't suppose to be there, but that's what I mean.

But it does this here:

[code][ATTACH=full]402037[/ATTACH]

Here are some examples on another forum for you.
You will see when I put my text in the code box it stays text.

It doesn't just disable IMG tags.
It disables everything and leaves you with the text/code only.
Nothing works until you put it in the forum without the code tags.
I find that it's an easy way to teach someone how to use the features on the forum.

I either missed this or you just added this function.
Instead of using the wrap

 tags around the selected text you are doing it with the wrap [PHP] tags around the selected text.
