Finished now my model of "Jackpine Joe" a B-24H Liberator of the 780th BS, 465th BG based at Pantanella (Italy). This bomber on its 22nd mission to bomb the Allach factory outside Munich didn't return to his base. Instead he ran into problems (rough engine, heavy flak) hat to left his formation and tried to reach Switzerland. Again ran into flak over Friedrichshafen the pilot commanded to bail out. The abandoned airplane then crashed into Wyden castle (near Ossingen). That's not far from where I live.
Thanks to friends and help from this forum I could figure out most of the details of this particular airplane and start building this kit.
