They started off short, droppy wing and bouncy, so I think short silver droppy wing and bouncy ones were the worst, whilst long blue floaty ones that didn't bounce were the best (if they had roundels of course).Best - the Blue ones.
Average - the White/Grey ones.
Worst - the Silver ones.

Vought F4U Corsair
The British only had two basic methods of improving performance, hack off or add to the ends of the wings and increase the distance between the pilot and the propeller. This also seems to have worked on the Corsair.I honestly think the F4U-5N is the best though. It had better performance than its predecessors and was modernised. My worst would be the AU-1, maybe because it was heavy and lacked performance, but still a great attack aircraft
True that... i would say it was also pretty sturdy and tough the AU-1. What about the F2G though? I don't know much about it but i heard it was rather mediocre.Be very careful when comparing the AU-1, granted it wasn't anywhere near as good high up but many websites and books give the top speed with it carrying a pair of large bombs, 10 small bombs and a drop tank, all at the same time.
Performance when clean at low altitude was actually pretty good.
361mph at sea level and 389mph at 14,000ft.
Climb at sea level using combat power (115/145 fuel) was 4620fps.

I like the clipped wing British variant. Higher roll rate, more compact for hangars.Actually, i think all Corsairs are great, but in your opinion, rate the the Corsair variants from best-average-worst. Would love to read ur opinions.
Very funnyI was always a fan of this Corsair variant. View attachment 615002

I agree. I wonder why some Corsairs remained in their USN blue whilst others were painted FAA camouflage. This pic claims to be at the US Brewster factory, suggesting that this plant at least painted the Corsair camo prior to delivery. That is a fantastic job for 1/72 scale.
Did it depend on theatre, I think its sensible for RN Corsairs to be in the same colours as US ones when working together.I agree.
