Hello,
I didn't succeed in my researches :|
I would like to know if it's possible to see a P-47D-16-RE in 348th FG during October/November 1943 ?
TIA :)

Not likely. IIRC the first production -16-RE did not roll off the Production line until December/Jan 1944. The first loss record Baugher has for a -16 is February 1944.

1942 USAAF Serial Numbers (42-70686 to 42-91373

This is a worthwhile site but not the definitive answer. If you have the serial number the record files are found at USAFHRC

Any specialist in videos to try to see the SN of this P-47D (at 4:21 and 7:33) with, apparently 15 victories flags ?

I know it's not 42-8145 (lost 10/22/43) because the name on the nose of 42-8145 is "Firey Ginger" not Fiery Ginger and the white paint on the tail is not the same... It's not 42-22668 (Fiery Ginger IV), the "IV" is missing and the victories are not in the same place (under the cockpit on 42-22668)...
May be 42-75908 (Fiery Ginger III, some source say she was a D-2) ? But It's difficult to see cowl flap modification but for me, probably not...
Any help in my investigations ?;)

42-8145 is a -2-RE, 42-75908 is near the D-11RE and -15RE (IIRC), and 22668 is at end of D-2-RA to -4-RA

have to look up
