Oh i see now. If I may suggest.... I would use the standard markings and apply them on the model painted with the RLM76 (Vallejo 70.907). When the decals are dry, I would spray the same RLM76 colour but quite thinned in order to get the correct transparency. To be honest the Vallejo paints of the air series are pre-thinned and give the effect actually. But the color series needs to be more thinned. Anyway the suggested way seems to be easier one for the 1/72 scale than trying to find the decal markings of the RLM77.

I think you've got something there. That will certainly be easier, and maybe a bit more authentic, since it does appear from the photos that the Schmitter bird was done that way.
