I went from 910 to 510 and back. There are pictures of 910 when she got back.
Glad you id it properly. And all the bits you added about it.
Thank you

Great info. Note the Boulton Paul Type E tail turret armed with four .303 Brownings. From 1940 to 1942, US aircraft that arrived in Britain did so without defensive armament/power turrets fitted. The Air Ministry decided that US aircraft were to be fitted with Boulton Paul turrets, so Hudsons, Baltimores, Venturas, Liberators and so forth received Type A (Defiant) and Type C (Hudson and Halifax) mid-upper turrets and Type E (Halifax) tail turrets where required. Later models of US aircraft came with US-designed and built turrets once US manufacturers managed to design their own turrets and put them into production.

Churchill's Liberator AL504 Commando had two lives. When he used it in 1942/43 it was a twin tailed converted LB-30, little changed from the basic aircraft. In August 1943 it was flown to the Tucson Modification centre from where it emerged in April 1944 with a stretched fuselage, single tail and "luxury" 20 passenger configuration taking in the whole bomb bay.

  1. Out of the Big Three WW2 bombers (B-17, B-24, Lancaster), was the Flying Fortress the most redundant?
