A German reconnaissance aircraft overturned on October 26, 1939 17:45 an emergency landing in the Noordpolder near Usquert, from- due to problems with one of the engines. Dutch soldiers take a closer look at the aircraft, a Dornier 17. The three crew members were apprehended by Marechaussees of the Uithuizen post, where the Germans also spent the night spent "waiting for the arrival of the military authorities. The aircraft was dismantled and transferred to Soesterberg Air Base.
