IMHO the serial is 42-39614 what indicates the P-61B 42-39338 to 42-39757 series , Contract Number AC-21061-2. The Northrop P-61B-15-NO actually, delivered to the United States Army Air Force, Condemned and salvaged, October 26, 1945.

BTW ... regarding the spinner paint .. I would say the strips rather than the spiral. Here a shot of the 416th NFS Black Widow named "Hell and Black". Aditionally the squadron and the 417th one were equipped with the P-61Bs of the serials from the 42-396xx series what may be noticed in a couple of images. So perhaps the P-61B seen above could also belong to the squadron.

The name on the 416th NFS airframe in post #593 is 'Hel'N'Back' i.e short for 'Hell and Back'. Nothing to do with "Hell In Black".
