It sounds like a motorcycle when in idle, at higher power settings it has a nice deep rumble

Across the ramp from out facility in Anchorge Evert's would fire up a DC6 or C46, what a musical sound to a pilots ears. Clouds of blue smoke, good for keeping the mosquitos down! The 6's commonly fly over my house on their way North, pleasing rumble, but hard to imagine what a large formation of bombers might have sounded like!

Most of the warbirds have reverted to the civilian CB16 for parts availability and maintenance. Still good for 1500HP for a wet takeoff!
