The P-47 dealt with the large diameter prop by using a long, telescoping landing gear.
The F4U used an inverted-gull wing.
What method did the F6F use?
Or for that matter, the F8F?
I don't know the answer for certain, but look at the Hellcat from the front. There is a very slight "inverted gull" design to the wing. Nothing near the Corsair but it is there. The first few feet of the wing come straight out, then start a slight bend upwards to the wingtip.
Plus the F6F has the intercooler mounted under the engine, so the crankshaft axis is actually higher than the centre of the fuselage, the prop was mounted up-heavy. Hellcat has a fair bit of rake on the gear too, like the P-47.
