Ferrying P-40 To China

This is something of an adventure story that almost reaches "Raiders of the Lost Ark" proportions. It describes the challenge of of ferrying those first few P-40E sent to reinforce the AVG in China, something we have all heard mentioned in various publications; this is "the rest of the story."

That is one fantastic story, meeting Robert Scott, Chennault, and Boyington, then flying back on a C-47 with Stillwell.
It has to be one of the best War stories ever!!!

A friend of mine was a crew chief on C-46's over the Hump. He said the great thing about that theater of ops was that if you wanted to do something you just went ahead and did it.
