Wasn't sure if this needs to go in a different area so I'll give it a try here. Been reading alot on Battle of Britian lately and was wondering when the RAF officially changed from the vic to the finger 4 for fighter squadron tactics. Many times I've read about individual squadrons changing but not when it was official from the Air Ministry. Curious if anybody's seen that somewhere.

I seem to recall that it was not officially changed from the "vic" formation to the "finger four".It was up to the individual squadrons. The OTU squadrons were still taught the vic in 1943.
