Hey everyone,

I'm currently working on a P-47 Thunderbolt model and ran into a bit of a problem. The wing and tail sections aren't lining up as smoothly as I expected. It's not a huge issue, but there's a noticeable gap around the edges where they meet, and it's been a bit tricky to smooth it out.

I've already tried some sanding, but it still feels a little off. Has anyone encountered something similar with this kit?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the site.

To replay your question ... what P-47 kit? There is a lot of them in different scales of a couple of manufacturers. Also any picture would be useful to get an idea what should be done.

Generally .. there is no kit having any issues. The gap between two parts at the joining surfaces isn't anything remarkable. Usually the issues is caused by a model assembler who didn't fit the parts. To remove the kind of gaps a putty is needed to fill up the slot with around. Or/additionally you may use a piece of plastic card or bars depending on the gap width. And then sanding to required shape of the join.
