Hoping someone might be able to i.d. the aircraft this was fitted to, based on these scant clues? Comes from the Townsville (Queensland) region. Thanks

A long shot but the 12 might be identifier for CAC Boomerang according to my notes. In the de Havilland world, the first 2 digits after the letter designate the a/c type and the ND refers to a part that is fully dimensioned on assembly drawings but not detailed on separate sheets. Maybe this nomenclature was used amongst several Commonwealth manufacturers.
