I was thinking the same. I just finished searching for a five or six blade contra-rotating prop.I don't know why but it just looks wrong.
These aircraft had Merlin 32 and/or the Merlin 24 engines, IIRC and they needed the 4 bladed prop to efficiently extract all the power.Mk V Hurricane. Two prototypes were made with the 4 blade propeller as fitted to the Spitfire Mk IX.

You'd need the extra power to haul those heavy cannon pods under the wings.Wonder what effect it had on performance?
2 blade looks more wrong, IMO.I don't know why but it just looks wrong.
One blade is even worse.2 blade looks more wrong, IMO.
Hurricane with 2-blade metal prop?
Does anyone have any information on the 2-blade metal (CS?) prop being fitted to Hurricanes? Even if it was just for use by CC&F locally. Snautzer01 posted a photo in the Aircraft Pictures thread, see "Hawker Hurricane"ww2aircraft.net
Now, how about five blade!

Has there ever been a fabric covered fighter with a bubble canopy? It just seems wrong.Give it a bubble-top and call it a day!
