Gerald R. Johnson P-38J Fall 1944 ?

Hello,
I'm searching since several years the serial number of the P-38J "black 83" with 15 victory markings flown by G. R. Johnson during October/November 1944. He was at this time Deputy Commander 49FG.
I've got a photo of this aircraft but the serial number, apparently 44-23???, is partialy masked by the early rudder national marking. I think we can see the end of the SN on the starboard side of this aircraft but I didn't find any photo...

Been through my books Steph. Found his two P-38 "White 83s", his P-47 "White 83" an H(so the caption says) "Black 83" and two "Black 83s" facing head on, no mention of serial numbers

I just looked in "Jungle Ace" and it might be possible with a magnifying glass to tell the serial number of his P-38 "Barbara" in early 1945. It may be 44-26460. But while there are pictures of Black 83 I can see no serial number. That was a P-38L-5-LO

The serial number of P-38 #84 flown by James "Duckbutt" Watkins is 44-26407. It is a P-38L-5-LO
