German bomber parts WWII? (1 Viewer)

Hello everyone, some time ago I had the opportunity to retrieve some parts from an elderly person who had kept them in a corner of an old barn he was using as a storage room. I recognized these parts as being aeronautical. I questioned him a little and he confirmed that they came from a "large" German aircraft. He was a child at the time and remembers retrieving them with the help of his father. What do you think?

The parts with cast R8-88 etc marks are Ju 88 design parts, which most seem to be. The one marked R8-110 etc should be a Bf 110 part. The hydraulic/ fluid valve marked R13- seems to be a component type that is not designed for a specific aircraft. Parts marked R8-followed by an aircraft type number are Airframe parts, parts marked R9- followed by an engine type number are engine or engine related parts.

Just to expand on the cast-in item numbers of German parts a little. The cast-in RLM part number is common on smaller items and there are a large classification of R numbered item groups. However, larger components or equipment (Gerat) will usually have in ID Plate. Many items will not have the "R", and usually the number will appear in a parts list without the R prefix.
Also, many things from suppliers, like pumps, may have a makers code, product name or id number.

Salut Laurent ,
I suggest you ask the old man as much information as possible ( as far as he remembers) :
date, how many crew people, background (night/day? accident/fight?), fate of the crew (killed/survived), etc..
that can help you rebuild the story of this very aircraft and understand what happened.
