G1 > Mundo - NOTÍCIAS - Equipe da TV Globo fica cinco horas seqüestrada pelo Hezbollah
The correspondents of TV Globo, Marcos Losekann and Paulo Pimentel were kidnapped in Lebanon during five hours and questioned by members of the terrorist group Hezbollah.
They did a story on a cafeteria theme in Beirut that serves meals to the sound of shootings and air strikes. The restaurant, which was inspired conflicts in the Middle East to attract customers, is in the neighborhood controlled by the militant guerrilla group.
The Hezbollah, which is also a political party challenges the government and Lebanese tracks up to the work of the press.
The cafeteria has sandwiches with names of weapons, dishes inspired by terrorist acts and meals packed with covert role, all prepared by a chef dressed as a soldier.
To complete the environment is decorated with reproductions of arms and munitions and networks of hiding.
It may seem in bad taste, but the "Buns and guns," which in Portuguese means "bread and arms," is the most bustling cafeteria of Beirut.
The inspiration came from the neighbourhood: it is in the heart of Dahiye, the neighborhood controlled by Hezbollah, the "Party of Allah".
The terrorist group also acts in politics, fight against Israel and is opposed to the Lebanese government.
It's like a state within a state. So, here, a press credential issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lebanon, not worth anything.
In the midst of recording in the cafeteria, the militant group appeared suddenly and sent the team embarcasse in cars with curtains that prevented the external vision. Under the sight of arms, they were arrested and questioned.
The equipment was seized, as well as mobile phones and documents.
Five hours later, they were released with the order to return to London in the first plane. The militants returned the phones, but without the memory cards. From the video camera, they removed the tape, but not realized that the original, with the images displayed in the story, had been replaced by another.
The Consulate of Brazil in Beirut lodged a formal complaint against the abuses suffered by the team. The government admitted that Lebanon against Hezbollah, can do little or nothing.
