Hi everybody
This is my first thread on ww2Aircraft.net. My interests concern night aerial combat over Europe. I'm looking for info about HP Halifax II JN495 from 148 Sqn probably lost on the night 27/28.8.44 over Yugoslavia.

B rgds

On night of 26th August 1944 two 1585 Flight Halifaxes were shot down over Hungary.

JD362 'E' F/Sgt Jan Radwan-Kużelewski (flying without 2nd pilot), P/O Stefan Kleniewski, Sgt Leon Witkowski, Sgt Karol Wałaszek, F/O Kazimierz Sorówka, Sgt Tadeusz Ogrodnik, Sgt Edward Jodis.

JN895 'B' F/Sgt Józef Woroch (flying without 2nd pilot), Sgt Włodzimierz Augustyn, Sgt Alfred Szmigielski, Sgt Ludwik Wantulok, Sgt Jan Kantowski, Sgt BronisVaw Kłosowski, Sgt Rudolf Majewski.

The Halifax I ask about was a 148 Sqn mashine and was probably lost on mission of supply drop for Yugoslavian partisans rather than support of Warsaw Uprising. Problem is that I'm not sure wether Halifax of that serial was realy lost that particular night.

Hi everybody
After checking my Halifax files it seems that indeed there was no Halifax of that serial. I've found it on exellent Carpetbeggr Aviation Museum list, but anyway there was probably a Halifax from 148 Sqn lost in SOE Op. that night possibly in Sarajewo region. I'm looking for any info
All the best
