Hello,
Our museum has a number of plane fragments from various types of planes used in kamikaze attacks. The pictured item was included in a donation that included fragments from a Mitsubishi G3M "Nell" that crashed into USS LE RAY WILSON (DE-414) on 10 January 1945. We are unsure whether this chunk of lead was part of the plane or the ship. It measures approximately 1" wide at the base, 1.75" tall, .75" thick and weighs about 5.5 oz. Appreciate the help.
