Help! Need book title

I am looking for the title of a book I read in the early 1960's aboard the USS Independence. The book was about a navy pilot in the south Pacific in WWII. I thought it was something like "Death at Angel Twenty" or "Devil at Angel Twenty" but can't find anything using those titles.
I am pretty sure it was about a hellcat fighter.
Any help would be appreciated.
