How to interpret the K4 mechanical schematic diagram

Does anyone know the mathematical formulas in this schematic diagram? I would like to understand the principle behind it. Thank you very much to the friend who provided this information!

Type "AN 11-45C-5" into Google and you will get a link to the "Handbook of operation and service instructions" for the A1 Sperry upper turret. In essence it is analog mechanical computer/ gun predictor (those skewed and slanted shapes on axles represent analog values).
Check the manual, there is a "Section II" with "dissected" parts for horisontal and vertical axes, both ballistic and prediction correction.
 
Hangar Thirteen's Library has several manuals available, including a Handbook of Operation and Service Instructions for Caliber .50 Automatic Computing Sights - K-3 and K-4. How the computing sight actually made it's calculations is beyond me.

time consuming but nothing really complicated... most important - without detailed mechanical and electrical dwgs you are unable to generate anything more than equations in it's very general form - without exact values for the coefficients
 
I just got a book on K-series sights which does have the math.

To solve for R:

R = (TD x K)/W

"'K' represents the distance from the gunner's eye to the reticles in the sight. This distance will be practically the same no matter who uses the sight. Accordingly, it is considered constant and the solution for R can be worked out mathematically."
