How to interpret the K4 mechanical schematic diagram (2 Viewers)

Does anyone know the mathematical formulas in this schematic diagram? I would like to understand the principle behind it. Thank you very much to the friend who provided this information!

Type "AN 11-45C-5" into Google and you will get a link to the "Handbook of operation and service instructions" for the A1 Sperry upper turret. In essence it is analog mechanical computer/ gun predictor (those skewed and slanted shapes on axles represent analog values).
Check the manual, there is a "Section II" with "dissected" parts for horisontal and vertical axes, both ballistic and prediction correction.

time consuming but nothing really complicated... most important - without detailed mechanical and electrical dwgs you are unable to generate anything more than equations in it's very general form - without exact values for the coefficients
