Hi all
New boy here so be gentle.
I am part of a living history project, I am presently looking into the best way to clean/refurb a somewhat rusted HS so that it can been shown as part of the project.
I would be grateful for tips, reference, signposting on methods of achieving this.
Thank you in advance for your assistance
Sean

What country you are living in? Legislature and whatnot can change from a country to country.

This is purely as a show piece- it is rusty and I just want to know the best ways to clean it up to museum condition if possible.

If you have any contacts at the countrie's military, I'd advise asking them for help.
If not, you perhaps might want to contact Anthony (a.k.a. Tony) Williams. This is his website: link.

Big container and lot of 10% vinegar acid will do the job. heating will spead up the process but is not really necessary just some patience will be needed. Of course directly after reamoving rust oiling and greasing will be must do thing.
Have good fun.
