Dude! I was trying to be eloquent here! Your post pops up right as I was about to hit enter. What you need?
...and thanks for cheering up the place again!I live here, over in that corner.....no, the other one
I hope this isn't another colour pics thread. I have four books and four files on the Tuskegee Airmen. The files may have been broken up from one, I can't remember because I found it(them) five years agoThere have been several discussions about them on The Forum. Click the magnifying glass thing in the upper right hand corner. For search, just key in Tuskegee Airmen. A bunch of threads should show up. I'm sure there's quite a few here who would love to discuss any specific question you find interesting.
To steal from old Yellow Pages ad: "if it's out there, it's in here."
Hi. Thanks for responding. Since I made that post I think I found my answer but here is what I was looking for; I was looking for reference material that would confirm that the passing grade on the Stanine Test to qualify was lowered from 6 for pilots and bombardiers and 7 for navigators to 4 for pilots and bombardiers and 5 for navigators for the Tuskeegee pilot candidates while the passing grades stayed at 6 and 7 respectively for White pilot candidates. Ulysses Lee in his work 'The Employment of Negro Troops' confirms that this happened. Do you have any information about this? Thanks. What you need?
I have another question. Do you know the reason that the 477th Bombardment Group, which was constituted on May 13, 1943, was for 2 years never deployed to the war in Europe? What you need?
Thanks.
Yes. A number of them.Have you read Dr. Daniel Haulman"s papers?
Go to the 15thaf.org website, then go to XV Fighter Command, 306th Fighter Wing, then click 332nd Fighter Group. My research on aircraft files and pilots is on there. Not 100% complete, but I will add to the files as more info is uncovered.Anyone knowledgeable about them?
They (the 477th) were training for deployment in the Pacific Theater.I have another question. Do you know the reason that the 477th Bombardment Group, which was constituted on May 13, 1943, was for 2 years never deployed to the war in Europe?
