Hello, I am new here and need some help. I found this tail wheel section in a barn, believing it is from a Luftwaffe plane. I spent hours on the net trying to ID the plane it belongs to, but no success. The closest I came is Me110, but it is only similar.

SO I need some help....can you ID this, which plane belongs it to? The part is totally uncleaned, as found. No other markings found yet. If any other pics are required, pls net me know. Lengh is 1m.

Thank you!

Am on vacation now, will have a very very close look once I am back. Thanks!

I don't think I can help much and I'm sure you already know what the German in the last photo means. My rather imperfect German translates it as "oil level measured 225 mm from the upper edge of the pipe" 225mm is nearly one inch. We look forward to seeing what you find out.

Hi, thanks, and I did read the label well, german is my mother language ;)

I took the landing gear outside now, cleaned it and hat a look. The "Sleeve" needs to go up, fits perfectly, and now the whole shock absorber is visible.
There seems to be a spot where a "label" must have been, but gone now. Nevertheless I did find some numbers, see pics. No FL number or similar, but maybe this can help somehow?

To the idea that this is from a Fiesler Storch....I had a kool, there are some norweginas who are restoring a Storck, look here:

It looks similar, but different in some details.

Took some more pics outside after first cleaning and numbers, maybe there is a clue in this:

Errr, no. 225mm is just under 9 inches.

The Storch idea is a possibility as there are two lugs that might support the braces shown in the restoration pic.
Yes, but it looks a LOT longer on the Storch, and the angle is different.

I wrote to the guys from the restauration project, maybe they have an idea.

Any other input / Ideas? I did think that things are / were much more standardised, but I am very wrong as it seems ;)
