Great; the question is how to be sure that the blade is from the Seafire or the Spitfire?
Can we find the plans with the dimensions?
That would fix it, wouldn't it?
I sent an email to HERCULES PROPS if they knew anything?

I'm afraid you can't be sure. Especially, if both the Spitfire and Seafire used the same prop blades. The numbers don't indicate any particular aircraft. Of course finding the blade drwaings may help with getting the plane variant. But it could be in the general way only. Just a Griffon powered Spitfire/Seafire.
 
I do not know if this will help? It is from a 1942 Rotol manual.



If this is of any use, then the VKC would be the manufacturer's code (followed by the blade Serial No. 32911), the 108 would be the Diameter of 10' 8", and the RA 9731 would be the Rotol Drawing No for a Jablo blade with Rotoloid covering and an Armoured steel leading edge sheath. A Drawing No. for a blade made of Hydulignum would have an HA prefix rather than RA. (I think)

I will soon transmit the dimensions of the blade, things could surely be refined with the dimensions there must be plans with dimensions in spite of the fact that there were 13 different varieties of propeller blades Spitfire and Seafire included.
But mine has a layer of resin on the wood, is this original in your opinion?
 
Hello, how many brands of propellers were made for Spitfire mk XIV & mk XIX or Sea Fury mk XV & mk XVII.
How can you be sure it is a ROTOL propeller?

There are like straight lines crossing on the woodwork or on the resin of the blade? Is the resin original?
Knowing that the red paint dot is on top of the resin.

Jablo enamel = Resin donations would be original when you think?
So it could be a ROTOL JABLO WOOD BLADE?
 
For info the size of the blade + metal adapter measures a total of 149 centimetres.
the blade only 131.5 centimetres and the metal adapter 17.5 centimetres.
Width 27 centimeters.
The rotoloid cover is made of what and how?

I can't get any answers from hercules propellers that have plans with dimensions.
I am looking for propeller blades for spitfire and seafire with dimensions.
To examine which models they might belong to.
 
So it would be a propeller made by JABLO and not ROTOL?
