I am not a gardener but caught a program on the 80 best gardens of the world.
Attached photo shows part of a rock garden created in secret by Nek Chand on his own from the 50's to its discovery in the early 70's. The garden was almost demolished on discovery but the local authorities stepped in and saved it.
Mr Chand would look for waste material and carry it on his bicycle to the gardens secret location in the jungle. The shear scale of the project is immense and some of the pieces look downright heavy. Truly inspiratinal stuff.
