Thanks in part to Norwegian traitors, "Quislings", having prepared the way, the German forces invading Norway in April 1940 were so sure of a easy and quick victory that they brought along a marching band to lead their triumphant forces into the nearest city to the airport.

Timing was a bit off, though. The band's airplane got there ahead of anyone else.
 
Our Aviation Society recently had an article on two RAAF glider pilots who were killed landing their glider on the Hardinger plateau delivering SOE people in the first attack on the heavy-water plant - a failed operation. Both pilots are buried in a Stavanger cemetery.
